Thanks Kevin. I will print this off and check off what I have done. If I carry on with the brick wall I'll come back to you. Naomi

I dont know how much you have done but i am sure we can get you back further. I am probably about to list some stuff that has already been mentioned to you but we have to tick them off and then get inventive on how and where to look. 1) do you have your GG Grand fathers birth certificate. 2) have you checked this address on the 1861 census 3) have you checked this address on the 1851 census. 4) are any older siblings listed on either census. 5) if so get hold of their certs to see where they were born. 6) do they have an irish sounding name. If they are Irish it is still possible to trace further back in some areas 7) have you checked the IGI 8) have you checked the Vital Records Index 2nd Edition for the UK. 9) have you looked at documents online for a will from before 1858 10) have you tried access to archives web site for any deeds, wills, etc. I ll leave the list there for now if you have done all of the above we will start to get inventive.

I've been trying to find my GGG Grandfather and his wife without any luck. A few lovely people on here have had a look for me too to no avail. Should I possibly assume that maybe they came from another country ie: Ireland? All I know is that they had a son my GG Grandfather here in Camberwell, London in 1855. Cheers Naomi
