Hi Jeffrey In that case, you would benefit from finding her details in the 1881 census, and preferably also the 1871 census. If you are sure the 1868 date is correct, the 1871 address could be particularly useful, and could be checked against possible baptisms in the area. The marriage certificate should give her father's name and occupation. The same name and occupation in a census with a daughter of the correct name and age would be good guidance. A marriage of her father with a mother of the correct Christian name from the census might be traceable from that, allowing for the age of any older siblings. Best wishes Stan

Seeing as you are probably going back some 150 to 200 years, the only hope is that you can find baptismal records, which may give an address or father's occupation. Some also give the mother's maiden name. Even post 1837 these can be useful. You use them to link to the equivalent information in marriage records or later birth records. Unfortunately, when you go back before 1812, less information is contained in them, and even the mother's Christian name does not appear on early records. It is very easy to bark up the wrong tree! can any one help me find oit which one is my gr,gr,gr,gr gran i have found her weddin cert and have found the birth but found a few more the same year do's anyone know how you figure out which one is which
