On the topic of useful websites - or at least potentially useful ones, I found a while ago a site called the UKBDM exchange at www(.)ukbdm(.)co(.)uk. When registered, the site allows you to list details of birth, marriage and death certs and also parish records that you have/have seen with contact details. You can also search what others have listed by surname and town. This seems to me like an absolutely great way to share research, especially details of people that we have found in our travels but don't actually belong to our own trees. I have added a lot of details of parish marriage and burial records I have transcribed. A plus is that the site will act as my back up should I lose my notes. There is not a huge amount on the site at the moment but the more people who add to it the more useful it could be. And registration is free. Angela

I agree that it's a great idea to share certificate information by registering them there.

Hi there again Just to say that the guy who manages this site is very approachable and keen to know of problems - I have emailed him myself about a bug and he was quick to respond. Let's all get adding our details and make this a good site that we can all share. Angela

Angela, I'll second everything you have said. I have put all my certificates on it and will continue to do so. This has the potential to be a great free resource site. Please everyone add your certificates. Jean.

Totally agree. This site along with exresidents, ancestral villages and curious fox are all excellent ways of sharing info. The more that people use these sites, the better they will become.
