Hi Fi, I`m glad I am not the only one who enjoys going back to areas where known ancestors lived. I often do this and take photos of where houses once were or places they would have known. It helps to paint a picture of how their lives might have been and brings you closer in some way. I hope the factory are able to provide you with more information. Good luck, Frances

Yes, I have just come back from a weekend in Linconshire where I met up with a friend and she showed me places in Lincoln/Skegness area that where relevant to my family history. It appears that the house where by dad was born was knocked down alond with others and a factory has been built on the site. What was annoying was that the house to the left of where mine was, is still standing. How frustrating. Anyway took a pic of the factory. We then when in search of the road where my gt grandad was living when he died. We couldnt find it at first, however later that evening I was sitting having a meal in the Little Chef and spotted that they sold maps of the area. And amazingly it was in there. I brought the map and this morning I went on a search for the house. It still stands and people still live there and I took a pic of the house. Tomorrow I'm going to ring the factory and see if they have records of the houses that stood where it does now. A successful and enjoyable weekend.
