At some stage this year I am leaving my job of 26 years, and I would like to find a job that is less stressful or shall we say you are more appreciated working for the Family Archives. Can anyone suggest the best way to go about this - I have no qualifications in the field except what we all have experience and 100% interest. Would appreciate some guidance Linda

Linda Good for you. A lot of time is spent at work, and you should enjoy what you do. Why don't you write or phone the centre, and say what your looking to do. I find honesty goes a long way. I once got offered a job, because at the end of my CV I added, and I make a nice cup of tea!! Good luck. Lynda

Thank you Amanda and Lynda for your encouragement. Certain things that happened to me last year have made me think that life is too short, and we always say "I wish I'd have done this and I wish I'd have done that" but never do anything about it. I will hit the big 50 in May so I've decided to change things for better, make life sweeter so to speak. So thanks for the kind words - means a lot Linda

I would also love to work in a record office or library even. I have been at home with my children for the past 20 years, so realise it is a dream. Good luck Linda

Dreams can come true Diane, why not have a go and contact your local authorities - full time, part time or voluntary. Linda

If your still pondering whether to have a life change. I saw this saying once which said.... Nobodies last words are....... .....I wish I'd worked more. How true. To have a job, that when you come home at night you can think, I made a bit of a difference to someone today, is great. Hope you've handed in your notices!!! Lynda
