I am just wanting to know if anyone knows any free census websites or how i go about tracing my fathers family. My father has passed away now. Dnt think his family know about me, even though im 18 yrs now. any help is much apreciated Thankyou.

You don't say if your parents were married but I assume not. Do you know your Father's birth date and where he was born? If so you can look up the reference on the 1837 online web site (pay to view per page £5 minimum) or free BMD. If you are only 18 I doubt whether any census sites will help you except maybe the 1901 which is only free to view the first page and wouldn't help a lot. Ann Glos

Madeleine, If you know some of the family names you are searching for, and an area if possible, you can have a look at the 2001/2 electoral roll on b4usearch, which is a free site. For a more up to date electoral roll/directory enquiries search, try www.192, though you will have to pay for this one. (sorry I don't know the full web addresses at the moment - type the above into your search engine to access the sites). Good luck! Dierdre X
