Just had another idea. on the 1901 census you can do a partial name search. it may have been index wrony or the enemuerator may have spelt the name wrong. all you have to do is put the first 2 or 3 letters of the name and a *. so for albert goodge put al* goo*. you may get a couple of hundred results but you ll just have to look for likly candidates and go from there. Hi Kevin, thank you for the advice, I have checked again on familysearch, and I haven't been able to find him. I will check again on 1901. Lucia

Just because they are not living together doesnt mean that one of them is not your relative. he could have been with grandparents or other rellies. also they could be in a boarding school, hospital or other inst. try looking at all the possible canditates and prove whos yours by proving the others are not. eg wrong parents names, ages and places of birth. i have had to do this. Hi Ruth, I have already tried looking on 1901, 1891 and 1881, but I haven't been able to find an Alfred and an Albert Goodge living together. I do have his marriage certificate, but I still haven't been able to find him. All I know is that he was a waiter in 1914, and would have been born in late 1879 or 1880. Do you think his death certificate would help? thank you for your advice Lucia

When was your grandfather/mother born? Can you get Albert as a parent on the 1901 census to see where he was born? Janice

Can anyone help me find my g grandfather? I have already asked for help before, and a kind person looked him up on the census for me, but I've got no way of proving that he is my g grandfather. All I know is that his name was Albert Goodge, he was born in 1879/80, don't know where but I assume it is London/Essex area. His father's name was Alfred, who was a Tobacconist. I haven't been able to get any information from relatives, as he didn't talk about his family. I would appreciate any and all help and advice anyone can give me. thank you Lucia
