Not that I know of, I'm afraid. Sorry.

sorry - i should have said at the beginning that i was looking for scottish records - which is why its so difficult. is there a census decoder for scotland? and if so where can i get it? cheers *************************************************** about the man i'm looking for: my nana has told my dad that his papa's name was samuel. i have discovered that his papa's name was john james, so i think my nana means his maternal grandfather, whose name would have been Samuel Rice. My nana was born in 1925, the third child so i am assuming that her father was born at the turn of the century. i know a lot of this seems like guess work but i am sure that the army records for the certificate of death for my papa's brother would not have got his father's name incorrect. sorry if that seems unclear - just say and i'll try to clarify ***************************************************

The local library of where he was born should have the records. Have you tried downloading the 1901 census decoder? That could at least point you in the right direction and save you a few quid. Alternatively, give us a few details and we will see if we can help.

i am trying to find my great grandpa but without access to the 1901 census. i am guessing he was born around 1900 ans my nana was born around 1925. can anyone tell me where i can search electoral roll records or anything similar, from that period as i am getting confused and can't subscribe to pay per view type websites anyone? lianne
