I've been given the name Boaz as the first name of one of my gg grandfather. When I do a search on FreeBMD there are LOADS of Boaz's come up...is it short for something else like Wm is short for William??

Really?? Never heard of it before! I suppose back then people were quite god-fearing and so that's why it's a popular name!
