Have been searching for rellies on 1881 census. Am I thick, but says born MENT, Middlesex. Said the same for adjacent addresses. Does anyone know what this means. Jackie |

Hi, I had the same thing on my rellies MENT is Mile End New Town, and yes it is very near to Bethnal green, I think Mile End Hospital was the closest to Bethnal Green (born there myself). Nikii |

Another Middlesex query - I have a place-of-birth down as "Offspring, Middlesex" (c1800). I can't find anywhere remotely resembling this, can anyone think of anywhere similar? Thanks, Marian |
