Julie, a quick look on http://www.b4usearch(.)co(.)uk reveals two J R Hall's in Warwickshire. I am emailing you their addresses. Dierdre X

Diedre - What a wonderful site that is! I always thought you had to pay for the electoral register. Hilary

Hilary....another GC member mentioned the site some time ago. It got everyone up in arms (including me) because we were shocked to find ourselves so easily traceable online and for free!! It led to many of us altering our GC user names! We discovered that its not altogether complete or infallible, but I used it to search for an aunt none of the family had heard from in over 30 years, and found her in a care home using b4usearch. And much to her and her daughter's delight, our family is now reunited! So good luck to all who use it! Dierdre X

Hi Dierdre, I seem to remember that when you fill in the electoral registration form, you can tick a box that stops them putting your name on the version of the register that they sell on. I did tick that box and you can't find my details on b4usearch. Rick.

Hello Rick, Thanks for your message..... You are quite right...there is such an option now! And for the last two years I HAVE ticked the box. However the b4usearch site has (I think) the 2001/2 electoral role available, which, I believe is BEFORE we were given the choice to opt out of appearing on the saleable version. Dierdre X

Hi Dierdre, You're right ! I've just checked as I moved in 2002 and I'm on b4usearch with my old address. It's still a very useful site despite the privacy concerns. I found a first cousin of my mother's who she had lost touch with when she moved after my father died. She was absolutely delighted ! Rick.
