Hi Elizabeth, There is Great Chatwell which is a very small village just outside Newport in Shropshire. If I can do anything to help by making phonecalls (they would be local) I will do so with pleasure, but I'm afraid I cant make visits jus yet as I only came out of hospital yesrterday. Regards Gill

Thank you Gill I would be interested in anything more you can discover about Pidgey Bridge but I would not want to to go to any great trouble over it. Norman

Gillian - sounds like you know about that area? I've been trying to find out about a place called Chattle (seen it with various spellings) in almost the same area, with no luck. Don't suppose you know about that too?

Hi Norman,Pidgey Bridge no longer exists, it used to cross Pitchcroft Lane, which is near Church Aston, I believe there are one or two houses in that area.I may be able to find out more from one of the local historians if you would like me to. Gill Deakin

My grandmother's birth certificate says she was born at Church Aston, Shrops. She shows Pidgey on the 1891 census. Does Pidgey still exist?
