Hi all, to be alerted that you PC has a virus that is sending out 'hidden emails' add a contact to you address book of "[email protected]" any invalid email address will do. The a’s put it at the top of the list When the virus goes through the address book you will get a returned mail with that address as undeliverable!! Wont stop it but at least you will know at the earliest opportunity! Ian |

Hi Jeanette It could have been that... did the virus alert say who the e-mail came from? It might be wise just to send an e-mail telling the person to scan their PC for viruses. However, you can get nasty (but clever, unfortunately) viruses that will send out an e-mail virus to everybody in your address book, without the 'sender' even knowing! Scary stuff, eh? Karen |

Thanks for that Karen I did actually receive an email last night with an attachment (a census image) from another member. Should I inform her that she probably has a virus? The census image won't print out. Jeanette |

Hi Jeanette This means that your antivirus software detected an e-mail, probably with an attachment, which had a virus and booted it out! Hooray! Karenx |

I received an email today from 'Anti Virus' that said this A message sent from this address contained an attachment '%report%' that was either infected with a known virus or of a file type that might contain a virus. The attachment has been stripped from the message. What does it mean? Jeanette |
