I think the answer to your question is possibly but not always. I have the death cert for a 5 year old in 1853 and the parents aren't named at all. The informant is a woman who I haven't got a clue who she is. She lives in the same street so perhaps a neighbour. I don't know why the parents aren't the informant. Margaret |

I have several childrens' death certs. On all of them under 'occupation' it say son of... , or daughter of... and the father's name and occupation. On one of them it also says the mother's name. In each case the 'informant' was someone else not of the family. Anne |

Hi Julie, I have death cert for my Grandfathers brother who died 1881 aged eleven months,it names both his parents.Where it says occupation it says son of JF Stoneley and gives fathers occupation too,also names mother as she was the informant. Good Luck Kathleen |

it will probably only give the parents names if they registered the birth if another family member of evne a nieghbour registered it then I don't think it will have them on there Shelli |
