Barup surname help please

hi can anyone give advise as to where this surname comes from, henrietta barup was my 3x gt grandmother married to john doggett of st. albans he was born in 1799/1800 according to 1881 census, cannot find record of his birth so i thought i would look at henrietta in stead, shes even more elusive, any advise ,help would be appreciated thanks marcie xx

How about Barrup/Barrap instead? four turn up in 1881, and several in the IGI. Pauline

Hi Marcia I found the following information from the LDS: John was born abt 1802 in Hertford Henrietta was born about 1806 in Hertford They married abt 1827 in Hertford As John was a widow in 1881 Henrietta must have died before this date. His son Charles who he was living with was born abt 1825 so she must have died after this date. Jane
