He could be a nephew, one of my families had a mystery son who turned out to be their nephew but for some reason they claimed on the census he was a son! grr.

i wondered if any of you have any idea on this mystery i have just discovered. I was doing a census search on the Heathcote Family- Rowland Heathcote b 1865 from Hucknall Huthwaite Notts. I found Rowland and Mary A Dudley- who later became his wife and a mysterious yr old son Roland b 1889/90 who has disappeared from the 1901 census. I assume he must have died by then. Could he be the product of a first marriage for Rowland or maybe a son of Rowland and Mary who married later? Just to complicate it , there is another Rowland Heathcote b 1889 on 1891, but he is from a different family, and i found him alive in 1901. Any thoughts on how to proceed with this , gratefully received. Julie Tebb:)
