Misprint 1901 census

There are lots of mis-transcriptions on the 1901 as it was sent to the Far East to be transcribed - most of the people who did it do not even speak English. You just have to make a wish when you put in a search that you find the people you are looking for! |

Have you informed them, I had one were they couldn't read the name at all, I had a printout from PRO when I viisted so I knew they were on, when I did find them they were under ..... that is what they put when they can't read it. Emailed them and they put it right. Irene |

My family name is Colclough but searched for quite a while on the 1901 census. It finally came up as Colclongh, so if there is anyone from my side of the family looking get in touch. |
