Where do I get a marriage certificate for 1796?

Why not just order a copy of the fiche that will not be any more expensive you get to keep it then, you should be able to get a printout from any local Record centre. You should be able to find Buckingham records centre on line if you can't find what you want give them a ring. Irene |

There were no marriage certificates before 1837. It's down to parish records and the like. |

You need the church records or the Bishops Transcripts for anything pre 1837. May be available at the local record office. |

Hi all, I just tried to order a marriage certificate from GRO and they only do certificates from 1837. The marriage was between William Weaver and Sarah Fitkin on 22 September 1796 at Weston Turvill, Buckingham. Do I have to go to local Parish records office.? If so please detail as I have not done before and would like to know how and where. Thank you very much in advance. Jill |
