Put *"frank slynn"* (without the stars) into Google and you will see that he played in the first 2 seasons after WW2 and a couple of games a few years later.

If you put Sheffield Wednesday archive into google, it brings up a site with all their players and the fixtures/appearances etc

Gillian Why don't you try putting his name into Google and see what comes up, my grandads cousin played for Man U and when I put in his name, quite a few obscure sites came up! Or you could also try emailing/writing to the supporters club and see if they can tell you anything. Good luck Rachel.

What was his name and when did he play? P.S. Wednesday ground is only a few minutes away from my house and hubby's a fan.

Gillian. Apparently my father's cousin played for Sheffield Wednesday in 1936, when they won the F A Cup, I had forgotten that. Thankyou for giving me a new lead June

Hi Jeannette, Have done a Google search and am still going through all the replies! He's not listed on True Greats! I don't think he was that well known! Gillian

Have a look to see if Sheffield Wednesday have a website - I'm sure they will have. This should give you a means of contacting them. A lot of clubs have their own archives and may be able to supply you with some information. Jeanette

Hello All, Does anyone know of an internet site where I could find out info about profesional players? A cousin of my father apparently played for Sheffield Wednesday! Gillian
