Thanks folks for all your help. All I have to do now is gather all my scraps of paper together and get cracking. It goes without saying that I will be back on the message boards asking for loads and loads of help.

Brian It took me ages to realise that this facility was there! I find it very useful.... Let us know how you get on. Janet

It might be worth mentioning an advantage of the LDS PAF software that some may not realise is there. It is possible to do a search on any of the names in your tree directly with the LDS site. You just click on the name, and then click on the Search tab at the top, click on Family Search Internet and ........Bob's your uncle....... up comes all the names that match yours! You can refine your search if you want, if there are too many.

Yes The Mormans do give their software away for free,it's fine for beginners but in time you might find you need some better software,if you do you will be able to transfer your information from the Morman software to most other family tree software. Steve

New to tracing family history and am sick of bits of paper all over the place with details on. Need to put them in a Family Tree. Do Latter Day Saints do one and if so how do I download it?
