Either that or put a message on and somebody may look it up for you. Alternatively it means a trip to the Family records centre. Regards Julie

Hi Julie, Does that mean I'll have to spend £50 on an 1861 census disc? Naomi

Try searching for them on the 1861 census for camberwell. If you find them it will hopefully tell you where they were born. Regards Julie

How do I go about finding someone if I believe they were born before Civil registration and I'm not sure what area they came from? I'm looking into my GG Grandfather and mother. William Robert Poynts and Mary Abbs. Their son was born in Camberwell in 1855 but I know this doesn't necessarily mean that they came from that area originally. What can I do? Cheers Naomi Ooops - Forgot to mention I've looked on LDS under variations of Poynts but no luck.
