Jacky, I don't know about Rnaapp, but I had to uninstall IE 6 and go back to 5.5, my machine hated it, caused loads of probs but they just went when I went back to 5.5. Kim

If you put RNAAPP into Google there are a number of pages of comments/fixes.

Bob, I realised it was something to do with the modem and dialling uo as at times there almost seems to be a 2nd attempt at dialling while the first connection is going through. I did what you suggested and looked at what was ticked for start up but unfortunately I didn't know what half of it was so don't know whether it should be ticked or not!! Anne said that is giving her no problems but I do wonder if it has anything to do with my computer locking up. Jacky

This prob is caused by some prog trying to dial up the net. There must be a switch somewhere in ie6 to tell it not to do that automatically. Try msconfig (type msconfig in the box you get when you click "run" in the start menu) and see what is ticked to start when you start the computer. You may also have got an unwanted spy or dialup so you should run ad-aware or similar first. Bob

I am also using Windows 98 and IE6 and have been for some months. Rnaapp has been a constant nuisence since then. I have discovered it's something to do with the modem connection. HOWEVER I just click or double click on the cross and it goes away with no apparent problems. I therefore decided to leave it alone! I don't think it will cause any problems because we have had it for a long time now and nothing untoward has happened. I'm really pleased to find that it was IE6 that caused it - I always suspected that. Anne

Bob, I am on Windows 98. It is Rnaapp without any file extentions. I can't find it in programme files. It is only showing (to me!) either as an illegal operation message and on ctr. alt. del. Someone has emailed me to suggest asking on the MB tonight so I shall try that. It has only been a problem since downloading IE 6 the other day. Jacky

For the last few days Rnaapp has been on my computer on although I do Ctr. Alt/ Del - I get the message - has performed an illegal operation. My computer also seems to be freezing every so often and I have to disconnect from the mains as nothing responds. I have been onto sites for info but it is in jargon that I do not understand so...... what is it, What does it do? and how can I get rid of it? Thanks for any help - in simple terms please. Jacky
