Thanks Sharon and Rebecca, thought it prob was ok to assume a transcription error as document was produced in London, but know less than zero about Huntingdonshire so wanted 2nd opinions! Thanks again, Maz. XX

Thrapston is about 12 miles from Peterborough, which was in huntingdonshire, i live close by to Peterborough.... This makes perfect sense so i would think you are right. Rebecca.

Hi Maz I have just had a look on a map and Thrapston although it may now come under Northampton is not that far away from Huntingdon looks about 20 miles or so on the map. Maybe in those days it was part of Huntingdonshire. Hope this helps Sharon

Maz (the Royal One) in the East End 9256 Report 15 Jan 2004 22:04

Can anyone confirm something for me please. I have a copy of a document showing 'Hannah who was the daughter of George Rogers of Thrapsdon in the County of Huntingdonshire, Wool Dresser' dated 1837. The nearest I can find is Thrapston, which I think is currently Northants? Does anyone know this area well enough to confirm that this would be the one please. Thanks for any help. Maz. XX
