I apologise if this question has been asked before. I took out a quarterly subscription to Ancestry which expires at the end of January. I should like to renew for a further year but there doesn't appear to be an option to permit me to do this. Does anyone have any bright ideas? Jill

It should renew automatically - people normally complain about it renewing when they don't want to! However it will probably only renew for another quarter. I can see an option to change to yearly. You can have a look at the "Edit Account" in Ancestry and check your details. Sue

sorry to butt in, how do you cancel when your time is nearly up? Is there an email address to send a message to? I've got a quarterly sub, but i don't think i'll be renewing this time. cheers Julie t:)

Sorry to be a pain....I do want to renew, but yearly rather than monthly. I can't find an option for that. The only e-mail address I can find is to cancel altogether. Do you think that would work to change my option? I refuse to 'phone them - I'm too mean! I think I might cancel and then re-apply. Thank you for your input. Jill

On the information that I printed out when I subscribed to Ancestry it said "Note: To ensure interrupted service, your subscription will be automatically renewed at the end of each term and your credit card will be billed at that time. I think that the easiest way would be to cancel and then re-subscribe. The e-mail address is cancel at ancestry(.)co(.)uk(that is the only way it will let me type it!) Maggy

Before cancelling and then reapplying you just might want to call and speak to them. My subscription is almost up and when I spoke to them, via the phone, they gave me a better, lower, price than what I would gotten had I cancelled and then opened another account.....They don't like when people cancel and will often give an incentive to stay.....just my two cents worth!

Thanks Maggie and Julie. The problem with 'phoning and talking to them is the cost of a transatlantic call. I find it inconcievable that they will not communicate by email. I mainly use the site for the 1891 census. It would be cheaper to purchase the CDs. I shall attempt to email them and see what they are going to offer. There is other stuff on the site which is useful, but I'm not sure that it is 80-odd quid useful! I do appreciate everybody's comments, Thank you. Jill
