Irish to England

Hoping anyone can point me in the right direction: My G.Grandparents, Thomas and Mary Eyres/Ayres left Ireland and came to the UK to settle around 1903 (just after the Boer War - they were not on the 1901 UK census). I'm assuming they came on a ship bound for the US but none of the passenger lists that I've searched have names of people disembarking at UK ports ie: Liverpool. Does anyone know of any records which may exist or is it a case of Ireland being part of the British Isles at that time, no records were kept? Many thanks for all info offered Kind Regards and happy hunting Melanie

There may be some records in PRONI in Belfast. Some of the local shipping companies gave records to the Office, and they may contain passage from Ireland to England. Your local LDS centre may also be able to obtain the 1901 Census for Ireland as well, but you would need to be sure of the area they came from. Paul

Many thanks Paul - I'll try PRONI and see if I have any joy. I'm living in Cyprus and unfortunately won't be able to get to the LDS centre in the near future but will look up when I manage to get there. all the best Melanie
