In view of the amount of doubt on the contents of the NBI, I thought it would help if I put their list of county coverage - as shown on their disc cover - on here for all to see. First of all it must be accepted that it is not an all revealing record, some counties - as I found, are not fully covered yet. The 2 discs 1538 - 1825 & 1826 - 2000 contain over 5 million names from 40 counties. The Number in brackets indicates the number of places listed. Beds, 52,073 (28) Berks, 119,207 (90) Bucks. 80,011 (175) Cambs. 95,108 (184) Cards. 10,660 (25) Chesh. 255,015 (59) Derb. 35,246 (22) Dor. 1,030 (2) Dur. 159,244 (74) Essx. 48,435 (40) Glam. 248,907 (118) Glos. 153,661 (289) Hants. 217 (1) Her'd. 42,419 (174) Hert. 84,437 (91) Hunt. 78,875 (81) Kent. 15,651 (4) Lancs. 28,976 (5) Leic. 576 (1) Linc. 615,933 (566) Midx. 11,149 (2) Mon. 323 (4) Mont. 22 (1) Norf. 73,990 (131) Northampt. 86,214 (96) Northum. 106,165 (36) Ox'd. 213,099 (135) Rad. 4,724 (16) Shrop. 84,647 (219) Som. 1,588 (1) Staff. 17,967 (6) Suff. 428,704 (486) Sur. 120,279 (178) War. 460,147 (276) Wilt. 144,681 (70) Worc. 482,522 (195) York City & Ainsty 19,042 (43) Yorks E. 28,359 (68) Yorks N. 311,273 (216) Yorks W. 720,245 (233). Well there you have it! I hope that helps and that the Society will soon be able to add more to this. It's a big undertaking so we have to once again be patient. Jim.
