I know it's been mentioned before but I cannot find the thread anywhere but.... . Just about everytime I try to log on to a webuite I receive the message 'Cannot Find Server' and my internet connection is running REALLY slow. . How do I go about speeding it up again and not getting this really annoying message all the time. Any replies will be duly printed and kept for future reference. . Thanks Kay

Hi, I have had this problem and think it is just basicaly when too many people are trying to access that site, or are on the server maybe. As far as I know, (I'm not a whizz on this) you can't do anything about this. We're on broadband and still get these messages sometimes, not sure if being on broadband is supposed to speed things up but if theres too many people looking is still slows down your access. Hope this helps. Sarah

It sometimes happen when a particular server is down for some reason. Just have to sit it out and wait for them to fix it. I am on broadband and 4 of their servers went down a while back, but they got it sorted within a few hours.

More than likely you have trouble with accessing quite a few.....particulary getting the message "website can't be found." Try the following and it should solve your problem. 1. Go to START. 2. Click on CONTROL PANEL. 3. Click on INTERNET OPTIONS. 4 A box appears with tabs labeled across the top. Click on ADVANCED. 5. Scroll down to the sub-heading SECURITY. 6. Make sure the following has check marks next to it: Use USE SSL 2.0, USE SSL 3.0 and USE TLS 1.0. 7. Also make sure you check off EMPTY TEMPORARY INTERNET FILE WHEN BROWSER IS CLOSED. More than like USE TLS 1.0 is not checked of and it should be. This will give you the error messages, as well as a few others, that will prevent you from viewing web sites and the error you are getting. Make sure you empty your cookies cache as well as temporary internet files once in a while, too, as this slows down your computer. Scanning and Defragging, if never been done, needs to be done as well (not doing so will cause computer to be slow. ) Something else many overlook, and it effects how your computer runs, is that they don't upgrade their computers at the Microsoft Windows site, which is free. The day you bring your computer home it's already outdated. Microsoft's website posts all the ciritical updates, recommended updates, and drivers your computer needs. Good Luck! Any problems or if you need instructions on doing any of the above feel free to contact me. Judy
