Thankyou for looking Grahame, the only other info I have is that John was a 'coke burner' on the 1891 census and a 'night soil remover' on the 1901. I cannot find Joseph on the 1901 census either. It is possible that John may have been born in Rotherham but it does say Sheffield on 2 censuses. I am stuck! Thanks again.

Russell, I have had a look on my own 1881 census discs but cannot find them. There are several people named John and Elizabeth Prosser, but there are only three boys named Joseph, none of which are the ones you are seeking. Do you have anyother information regarding these people?

I am looking for a John, Elizabeth and Joseph Prosser in the 1881 census, John Prosser 1855 Sheffield Elizabeth Prosser 1859 Pontefract Joseph Prosser 1880 Darfield. I have them on the 1891 census and subsequent children on the 1901 census but cannot find them on the LDS site. I am almost certain that they would have been living in the Wombwell/Darfield area of WRY and very unlikely that they would have been out of the UK. Any help would be appreciated. Russell
