Hi there thank you for taking the time to read this. My new years resolutuin this year is to seriously try and find out information on my mums real family before it's too late and becomes some thing that I always wished I'd done for her. Right here goes my Mum believes she was born in Belfast and her parents were Samuel and Margaret Clarke her name at birth was Elizabeth Clarke. She believes that they both died at a young age of TB. My mother was then sent to the UK and was in an orphanage in London and at approximately four years was adpoted and her name changed to Ward. Should anyone have any information or beleive they could help direct me in the right way I would be very gratful - Regards Gill Syvret

Do you have an LDS centre near you? If you do, ask them about the BMD indexes for Ireland. It does not cost that much for them to get them for you, but you would need to be relatively sure of dates. Clarke, with an (e) is very common here in Northern Ireland, so you may have to do a bit of searching. Paul
