I thought it ended in January but it appears it ended on the 2nd of December. It was a complete waste of time and now I have ended up paying for the next quarter. Please will some kind soul tell me how to find that bit where you Email them to tell them to cancel the subscription!! Thanks.

They should have emailed you when you first took out a subscription and given the cancellation email address.

I took the 14 day trial and never had a confirmation e mail regarding this or the subscription. I really would have to cancel within the next day or two so I don't get charged for the quarter. Would I be able to do this without the e mail from them Thanks

If I had taken out the 14 day free trial I would have cancelled it too, because it took me much longer than two weeks to work out how to find my relatives on this site. However, having persevered, and with help from GC members, I find it an invaluable research tool, and would hate to be without it. The number of 1891 looks ups requested prove how much its needed. Just keep trying to find your family members, bearing in mind that names and place names have been transcribed wrongly. My Gobels, whom I couldn't find anywhere, eventually came to light as Gabel, and Forster was Foreter, and so on. Be more flexible in your searches, and you will probably wonder how you ever managed without it. Jan.

I e mailed them and have this evening received a reply from them confirming cancellation. Hopefully that is it sorted. I will go for it again when I have more extended family names. I have some more certificates to get, particularly on one line. I would rather spend the £36 getting those and wait a couple of months and go for another subscription.

Oh my goodness. I had not realised that the subscription would be a rolling one either. Thats a bit naughty! I have to say that I have had a lot of use out of the 1891 census so am happy, but it would have been a bit of shock when I get my next credit card bill!

I was a bit surprised when I clicked on edit account. According to that the subscription would have been renewable on the same day that I started the 14 day trial, so if you take up a subscription you are not getting 14 days free at all.
