Susan, the best tip I can give is to start with what you know, check every stage going back, and ask all family members for ANYTHING they remember. Always write everything down - and write down where you got it from! Start with your own birth cert, then your parents marriage, then their births, then their parents' marriages etc etc. Patience is essential!! Happy hunting. Maz. XX

Susan, How many years have you gone back? If you can get to 1901 it gets easier because there are various censuses available. Go to the Resource Centre and then the links section for a list of useful sites. Crista
