Hello Brenda, Thanks for the info'. I don't have any older relatives left to ask. It has however, given me another line of enquiry! Many thanks, Linda. |

Hi When the national health service started in 1947 the National registration numbers became your health service number for registration with your G P Are there any older members of the family who still have these cards or any old medical papers which would contain this number? If so you would be able to check if the book belonged to one of the family. In our house after the initail registration letters ours were 115 116 and 117 Hope this might help Bren |

When I scooped up the pieces I found a Clothing Book dated 1945 - 46. Does anyone know how I can find out who it belonged to? Unfortunately the 'owner' did not fill out their name or address, although the book has had some of the coupons torn out. It does, however, have a Holder's National Registration Number! and the issuing Food Office Code (Hailsham, East Sussex). I have tried as many variations of the 'theme' on Google and other search engines but have found nothing.............. Any suggestions on how to proceed very welcome Linda. |
