Ok...it didn't work for me! I went to the correct mother and added the right child (the one with all the rellies) and then tried to delete the other from the wrong mother...no luck! Do I really have to start again? *sob* Caroline

I know this might sound strange but, have you tried adding the correct child to the correct mother and then deleting the other?? I am sure someone will jump on me if this is wrong, but it may be a shorter method (if you see what I mean) Paul

Hi Carol; I had MAJOR drama with just the same problem as yours! I needed to change the mother of two children. Well! What shannanigans! It took so long to delete an entry and then I couldn't delet them because of a relationship etc! Grrrrrrrr! I ended up contacting GC for their help and they told me to delete the children but to do that I had to delete the childrens PARTNERS but to do THAt I had delete the CHILDREN of the union. To do THAT I had to delete THEIR children etc etc etc! In the end I deleted the whole wretched tree! The upside was I went from 295 to 900 individuals. The downside was it took forever to get it to load properly (3 hours in fact) as GC site wouldn't complete the gedcom insallation properly! Also I now have HEAPS of entries with those dreaded blanks for ages and places! I now sympathise to some degree with those who have them on the Name Summary ........ I really and genuinely don't know anything about them at this stage! Hope you sort it out soon. ;) Sonja

Try deleting the children, but keep the two wives. When you add the children again, it should give you a choice of mother. Paul

with this site??? I added a g-g-g-grandfather and then his children. I then found out that he had been married twice (the first wife had died) but when I added both wives on the tree it allocated ALL the children to just one but one wife had 3 and the other had 4 children. I can't find a way to change it. It won't let me delete the wrong mother (cos of all the children, grandchildren etc.) and when I emailed GC Help Dept all I got was...delete and re-enter!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrr So my tip is....yes! for once I'm putting a tip on the board...make sure you have ALL the correct details before entering anything on this Bl**dy site!
