Penny Were does it say it was updated on Dec 25? iv just been on and it says last update was 29 Nov!!!!! Christine

Christine on the home page under search information etc, it says the following......... The FreeBMD Database was last updated on Thu 25 Dec 2003 and currently contains 71,735,384 unique records (81,818,137 total records). On Thu 25 Dec 2003 FreeBMD users did 32,685 searches over 32 thousand searches on christmas day!!!!!!!

Thanks Shelli for answering for me. I had only checked briefly on Christmas Day and thought I would post it. When I just checked back - thought I had been a little too eager (or too much food and brain was numb) but glad to see they did indeed update the information.

Christine, if you have Free BMD in your favourites and go into it that way, try "refreshing" your page next time you are there. You will probabl find the new information displayed.

It is possible to create a data sheet from free BMD. If you have a very common name then it will be necessary to choose either Births,Mges,Deaths singly and if that is too large, reduce the time limit to, say, 10 years. You get around 3,000 entries at a time, I find it quicker to just copy and paste into Excel or similar. Gives you an idea of what years,quarters are covered for your name interest. Just type in the surname plus other info as above. Don't forget the variants in spellings as these need to be searched separately Diane
