MY GRANDMOTHER remembers that her grandfather's brother was named William Pursey, she cannot remember their father's name but her grandfather John was born around 1837, she believes ,but is not sure that William is younger, The family seem to come from Kent/Surrey LONDON area.I've come to a bit of a halt so has anyone got any ideas ? It's a common name and by 1881 they had all got their own businesses ,how would I connect the 2 without sending off for millions of birth certificates? John's birth was 1837 and I can't find a record. Do I just give up? I don't see how I can prove a connection without birth certificates or parents names, I can't trace John's marriage either on the 1837online . Inspiration required ! Kim
