I have found a potential relative on the 1881 census. Her name is Kelaca Evans age 53 born and living in Oldham. Has anyone ever heard of the name Kelaca before? Any suggestions as to what this might be if it is a transcibing error. Thanks, Cathy.

Cathy, It might be Rebecca. On the 1891 census there is Henry Evans married to Ellen with children Mary, John and Robert. Living with them is Rebecca Evans mother and Mary Evans sister. Rebecca looks very similar to Kelacca when written. If you email me I'll send you a copy of the schedule so you can see for youself. Emma.
