I'd also look at the Histon register -- it wouldn't be that unusual if the first child were baptised in the mother's home parish for one reason or another Histon baptisms haven't been done by the LDS programme (they've only done the marriages so far), so there's a hole in the IGI coverage here -- whereas Impington is supposed to have been systematically transcribed, so there you're only looking for anything the transcribers might have missed somehow

Thanks Crista Yes but no luck, also tried Cambs Registrar, they were very helpful but no luck. They suggested GRO £11.50 for a search of the year given and one year either side, just being mean with my money !!!!!!! Where can I view Parish record for Impington? Anne

Anne, Have you tried 1837online? If the 1881 census says she was born in 1842 that means she was born in the period from April 1841- Mar 1842. She could have even been born before the parents married. You could also try the parish records for Impington. Crista

Thanks Gary Will look into it, do you mean 1842?but all documentation states birth place as Impington, we know that they told fibs but as they were all labourers on the land around Impington and Histon, it seems unlikely that Timothy went to Cheshire BUT Timothy was missing from the 1841 Cambridgeshire census. Has anyone the census for Cheshire I wonder??????????? Timothy couldn't read or write, I know so much about the family but there is still so much to learn. Anne
