Dear Friends, I have very recently registered with the Guild of One Name Studies to carry out a One Name Study into the Hagger and Haggar names. In order to register I have had to agree to try to do the following: 1. You must agree to collect all references to your registered sumame(s) on a world-wide basis. A study restricted to one country, part of a country, or the descendants of a particular individual, does not meet our criteria. 2. You must agree to deal with all reply-paid enquiries and emails that you receive relating to your registered sumame(s). As I am UK based I am starting in the UK and it is my intention that the study should be a collaborative effort of all of us interested in these names. Martin Hagger (of www.hagger.org <http://www.hagger.org/> ) is already actively involved with me on the study and has already contributed the extracts he has done from English & Welsh BDM indexes. Martin and I have also been to the FRC in London to digitally photograph Hagg*r entries in the BDM index books, in order to continue with the work already started by Martin. So there will be a fair bit of transcribing to do and help will be appreciated. At the moment please do not send me data until I can advise you on the format to send it in. My intention is to store most, if not all, of the data in Custodian 3. However, like a number of users of newly-released v3, I am experiencing a few hiccups which hopefully will soon be fixed. For the moment all I ask is that you indicate you would like to be involved and whether you can offer any data, when I am ready for it, and what format you have it in. We would also welcome offers to do transcribing from digital images, probably into Excel. As you can see above I must answer any queries, I am able to, which I will do. For those who contribute that will include the sharing of any data you require for your own research. Very much looking forward to hearing from you. Peter Hagger |

Hello Peter, The 2001 Electoral Roll has over 1500 Hagger's and 497 Haggar's on it. If you would like them on a spreadsheet, just shout. Regards, Nesta |
