I am just starting to research my fathers side of the family.I know his grandad William Ringrose was born in Countesthorpe Leics 1876 and he moved to Hull, so I am guessing he died in Hull but I don't know when or where he is buried any suggestions as to where I look. Also Williams father Henry John Ringrose died in 1877 I have details of Blaby in Hull(Thanks to Crista) I don't know where he is buried, as I don't live near Hull is there anything on the web that I can search for cemetaries? Thankyou Sue...........

Thanks for your reply, I don't know why but I thought Blaby was Hull, I should read the the map a bit more, so you think there is just the two churches near Blaby? that has narrowed it down for me. Thankyou very much for looking for me.Sue

Hi Sue I think you will find that Blaby is the name of the Registration District where the death of Henry John Ringrose was registered. According to my Leicestershire and Rutland County Burial Index, he was actually buried in Countesthorpe on 31 Mar 1877. (Coincidentally, another person of exactly the same name was buried in the same graveyard on 26 Jul 1882). I assume you got the Blaby record number from Crista. Countesthorpe was in the Blaby Registration District. There were several people named Ringrose buried in Countesthorpe, but none buried in Blaby. Regards Stan

Thankyou for that information Stan I wonder who the other one was, must of been related, does it say how old the other one was? Ringrose must of been a common name in that area. Regards Sue...........

Hi Sue See my e-mail re burial of Henry John Ringrose 1877 aged 28. Also gives details of burials of his father John and mother Jane. The Church is St Andrew's (I looked up Countesthorpe on Google). Original Parish Records probably copied in Leicestershire Records office which is somewhere outside Leicester - see GENUKI for details. Regards Stan
