I always assumed that Nancy is a pet name for Anne, but can anyone suggest any other names it might be 'short' for? Thanks |

Hi Could be Hannah. Nancy Origin: French Meaning: Variant of Anne: favor; grace. Origin: Hebrew Meaning: Grace. As a by the by this reminded me (if my memory works right)of Nancy in Swallows and Amazons, who was really called Ruth but changed her name to Nancy because pirates are Ruthless. Good luck Ann |
