Sue, I found his birthplace by searching for him on the 1891. I took a chance and guessed that he might still be there in 1881 so my search was for all Williams born in 1877 but living in the town of Countesthorpe. A quick check on FreeBMD and everything tied in. There are sometimes problems if you specify the county where someone was born because the county is not always listed. This was the case here. It just says he was born in Countesthorpe and there is no Leicestershire or England listed. If you searched for him being born in Leicester, you would not be able to find him. Crista

You are all fantastic, I knew I would get results posting that one you are all so quick. Mike I have found that William on the 1891 next to that family, but that says mother Mary, on his birth certificate it says Louise, but maybe Louise died and he remarried. Crista correct on the birth certificate it says mother is Louise, please explain how you found that information......Thankyou all again. Sue..........

Sue...... The 1861 census disk is not ready yet but I've had a quick look on the 1891 Index disks and have found the following :- William Ringrose which might match up with his birth date ........ Sue, I have been looking for you but so far have found absolutely nothing...sorry:o( .I tried spelling in Wringrose, ringroase etc as well with no joy. Some of my rellies have gone awol on the censuses and I haven't a clue where! Aileenx

I have recieved the birth certificate of my gt grandfather his name is William Ringrose born 5th Aug 1876 father is Henry John Ringrose. William was born Wigston Leicester Reg district of Blaby,. I have been searching for ages but cannot find him on the 1881 census, can anyone else see them for me. Many thanks Sue.............
