There is one on FreeBMD born in the September quarter of 1837, Northwich volume 19, page 120. Of course this only helps with the year and the quarter, but you could now send off a letter for the birth certificate. If you know his parents then just put a proviso in the letter so they only give you the certificate if it is the right parents. The address to send off to is 4-8 Osborn Road South, Fareham, Hampshire, PO16 7DG. Telephone number is 01329 280493. Hope this helps.

Marcia The parish registers may not help you. Unless they had a very obliging vicar, most didn't bother with dates of birth. Dates pre 1837 are mostly baptism only. He may have noted their ages as they were a "job lot" Margaret

You could try the IGI or ask if someone lives near the record office for that area.

hi having looked everywhere except parish records, has anyone any idea how i can find the birth date of james rowbottom christened in bushey herts 26/02/1837,he had two other siblings christened with him so i presume it was a job lot, i would like him to have been born c1827, but apart from parish records( not local to them) not sure where else to look marcie xx
