If you contact the Town Hall (or in some areas the Civic Centre) they will be able to tell you. They usually have the names of past Mayors on a board or plaque in the Council Chamber. (I have spent hours reading these) June |

Is there anyone who is able to advise me how I can go about finding the full names of a couple who became the Mayor & Mayoress of Harrogate. I am afraid I do not know what years they served this postion (might of been between 1950 to late 1960's...) but his forename was possibly Frank and his wife's maiden name was Backhouse. I know that I am offering little info but I have only just found this much, the Mayoress is my Nan's Sister (my Nan was called Maud Backhouse, born in 1910, Blackpool.....I am now led to believe my Nan had 2 older Sisters...??) Any advice will be much appreciated, Many Thanks. Regards, Dawn. |
