If the father(s) of the couple getting married are deceased, do their names still go on the marriage cert.? John R |

My marriage certificate has my father-in-laws name and occupation on it with deceased after the details even though I never actually met him (he died before I met my husband). Kay |

Some certificates show the fathers name and occupation but don't say deceased, even when they have been dead a while. I have some showing this and I also have the death cert for the father. It seems to depend on who completed the register. Brenda |

I have a cert where, on both fathers, it just says "dead", no names and not even deceased! Kim |
