What a coincidence, Mt g.grandmother had Triplets, 2 girls & 1 boy in 1919.(were born as quads but one was stillborn--sex unknown) I remember hearing that some type of royal telegram was sent as it was unusual for triplets to be naturally born & survive. Will have to ask my great aunt ( only one of the 3 still alive). might try to see what google throws up... Elaine x

I wrote to Buckingham Palace a couple of months ago to query a telegram my family has that was sent to my ggg grandmother on her 100th birthday in 1914 as the royal web site (royal.gov.uk) said that these were first sent out in 1917 by George V, 3 years after her 100th birthday. After about a month I got a response from the Royal Archives at Windsor Castle who confirmed that yes, they were aware of telegrams being sent before this date but that records weren't kept of what telegrams were sent and to who (seems slightly bizarre that less than 100 years ago the royal family weren't keeping track of who they sent telegrams to!) The royal web site says something similar and suggests you write to the Royal Archives to see if they have any info although they stress it's unlikely http://www.royal.gov.uk/output/Page2566.asp I'm thankful my ancesters managed to save and treasure our telegram...
