Work Injuries - 1918

My father was injured at work in 1918 - he was 14. Can anyone suggest how I may find more details? He lost most of his left hand, (he was left-handed) Have looked at the local press, but in such poor condition as our local library - He did receive compensation, £60 Suzanne.
