When you send an e-mail through GC - by clicking on someone's name while on the site - then GC automatically sends a copy to you. I find this quite handy as I leave it in my in-box until I have had a response. If you then reply in your mail area by clicking reply from your inbox, then you by-pass GC and won't get a message from them. Some people, though, have their mail set up to give an automatic reply to every e-mail received e.g. "Thanks for your message, xxxxx will get back to you shortly" or similar. There is nothing you can do about this! Hope this is what you meant!! Maz. XX

Lisa J in California

Lisa J in California Report 20 Nov 2003 20:45

I have no idea, but the last time that happened to me, I compared "his" address to the address the website had, and found that an "l" had been added at the beginning of his email address. The strange part -- I didn't add the "l"; it originated from his site! (Does that make sense? The error appeared after the first email, and it showed up on the email HE sent.)

Could someone please tell me why, when I reply to an email when someone has helped me, for information I get it sent back by the postmaster. It dosn't happen everytime but, it is very annoying as I only want to thank them. Sue................
