Hi Gill I visited the Post Office Heritage Centre in London to find out more about a 'Postman' ancestor. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They went to a lot of trouble to get me copies of my ancestor's work records and only charged me about £1.50 for copies of everything! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

Hello Gill Your Family Tree have an article on Life as a postal worker.Issue 5 December. Here are some useful websites. The Mail Group Heritage Post Office Archives and Record Centre www.royalmailgroup.com/heritage/html/left/sub_post.htm Bath Postal Museum http://bathpostalmuseum.org PROhttp://catalogue.progov.uk Town Directories Readers should also consult town directories produced by Cook. Kelly ect for details of individual post office and postal workers personal details and addresses. These were issued for individual years during the 19th and 20th centuries. Good Luck Shirley
