Sorry, Maria. There are no matches. There seem to be very few entries for the geographical area you're looking for (which is the same as mine!). Most of the George Longhurst on disc appear to come from either Sussex or Kent. There is a James and Ann Longhurst in Croydon who had a son called John Henry in 1863.

Many thanks Linda, I have got as far back as gt gt grandfather George Longhurst b1840 Shoreditch London. He is on 1881 census with wife Caroline and siblings. I think I found his christening with parents James Longhurst and Hannah but I need to find James and Hannah with siblings to prove I am chasing the right tree. So far all christenings have been St leonards Shoreditch and thay have all resided around Hackney, Bethnal Green area. Any info you have will be helpful. Thanks Marie

Hi Marie The VRI (Vital Records Index) is produced by Family Search, part of the Church of Latter Day Saints. It is a set of CDs and contains approximately 10.4 million birth and christening records and 1.9 million marriage records from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Despite the large number of records it includes, it is by no means complete and most of us find that it hasn't got a lot of the records we are looking for!! I have a set a discs and would be happy to do look-ups for you. Just let me know the name of the person you are looking for, approximate dates (if you have them) and the area they were from (if you know it).
