Emma, It is anoying isnt it? I think the red contacted message stays until your contact also deletes the message, which if they have lost interest or left the country they are not going to do. Pam

I discovered it by chance ! Handy especially as it seems to be the trend for people not to reply to repeated emails ! ( I know sometimes, as mentioned before, some people are unaware they have been contacted) Elaine x

Elaine, That is a good idea, I have found it is much easier to search for matches to people in my tree using search with a name and date or place rather than going through the convoluted search provided from the Your Names list but hadnt really thought it would also throw up people in the trees of contacts who dont reply, good tip. Iv'e just discoverd a crafty tip*********************** _______________________________________________ If you have contacted someone through G.C. about a person in your tree.________go to search,----put in surname & place only e.g. Middlesex---- (of the person in question) _____ommiting everything else._________________ A list will come up of all the People with the same surnames in that area. Next to some of them, may be a red contacted. ------------ possibly the person you have just contacted .__This may be a good way of finding rellies of your named person you have emailed about. (especially if they are also in your tree ! )......very helpfull if the contact doesn't reply._________________________ elaine x
